Committed to a brighter future for children, neighbors and communities.

We consider a healthy neighborhood to be one that is safe, clean, and diverse; one in which it makes economic sense for people to invest and one where neighbors manage change successfully.

When We Spend Time Together

Having a community supports change and growth. Change and growth can happen when a group gathers with similar goals and aspirations. As confidence grows and knowledge expands, a community can understand the power of working together. As community organizers with Grassroots, our mission is to support the power of the people. We have been in unique spaces where we have watched power grow in a space thanks to time spent together.
With the start of the new year come new opportunities to connect with those around us. Grassroots and Transformation Waco Schools GW Carver and Brook Avenue launched Parent and Child Time Together (PACTT). PACTT aims to foster a meeting space where parents, caregivers, and students can learn and grow in education and well-being. One of the leading motivators for creating PACTT was the realization that parents and caregivers did not know their campus leadership or structure and, therefore, were limited in their campus engagements. Hence, PACTT was created as a safe space to learn and build connections that can strengthen campus engagement. PACTT topics covered this year include credit building/recovery, City of Waco Housing resources, and Literacy. These topics and many more will support the continual growth of a strong parent and caregiver engagement with the school and confident families that spend time together connecting.
