Committed to a brighter future for children, neighbors and communities.

We consider a healthy neighborhood to be one that is safe, clean, and diverse; one in which it makes economic sense for people to invest and one where neighbors manage change successfully.

Financial Literacy Teachers

Teachers….

A teacher serves as a guide, mentor, and facilitator in the learning journey of students. Beyond simply imparting knowledge, teachers foster a supportive and engaging environment where students can explore ideas, develop critical thinking skills, and achieve academic success. They often tailor their instructional approaches to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students have the best opportunity to thrive.

Belinda Velasquez attended Financial Literacy & Homebuyer Education at Grassroots Community Development back in 2011.  She learned the necessary financial skills to budget and save her money as well as other classes which taught her the process of purchasing her own home. She works for a local Credit Union and has volunteered her time to teach Spanish Financial Literacy.  There were five-two-hour Classes held at the Family of Faith Worship Center in September. Belinda shared the lessons she learned with other students. Just like Belinda, in fact, we are all teachers. We have all had training called experiences. Though our experiences differ and vary, each of us have become subject matter experts in the experiences we have overcome. Everyday, we all have the opportunity to take those experiences (lessons) and knowledge we have gained from them, and use it to help someone else. At Grassroots Community Development, we do just that! We have become experts in teaching others what is necessary to purchase a home. Whether it is creating or rebuilding credit, learning money management and budgeting, or making sound investments, the Financial Literacy teachers at Grassroots Community Development are experts willing to help you in your journey to becoming a homeowner.

What is a Financial Literacy teacher?  They are teachers who have learned what it takes not only to qualify for and purchase a home, but they also help educate on how to maintain the homes they help others acquire. Instead of being selfish with the knowledge they have, instead of charging some extravagant amount to teach what they know, they give freely and abundantly to all those willing to learn and apply the lesson. That is the mark of a true teacher. They know how to give of themselves to ensure you not only hear the lesson but can apply it and rise to meet your dream. Take time today to not only thank a teacher but be a teacher.

Grassroots Community Development extends a warm and heartfelt thank you to everyone who dedicates their time teaching our potential homeowners.
